Events happening in the SWO Community

The Black Engineers of Canada (BEC) is organizing its second bi-annual Virtual Career Fair on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. This is a great opportunity for employers to connect with talented Black engineers, professionals, and students from across Canada. Register by clicking this link or scan the QR code. Western Engineering Beginnings for Black Youth (WEBBY) fosters diverse and inclusive learning spaces for Black youth. Students in this programme will have the opportunity to do hands-on engineering activities, connect with mentors, and practice leadership skills. It’s a FREE four-week program that runs for four consecutive Saturdays (Sept. 14, Sept. 21, Sept. 28, Oct. 5, 2024) in the Fall. For secondary students, the program also provides the opportunity to earn up to eight volunteer hours. If you are registering multiple children for this programme, please complete one registration form per child.
